We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with at least 12 months of full-time experience (or the equivalent hours) on an acute ward, who are seeking their next challenge. As a Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be invited to work within the integrated multidisciplinary team. The hospital has a 14-bed mixed unit caring for patients who require ICU (level 3) and HDU (level 2) care.
As a nurse on the ICU, you will be:
- Responsible for the care of critically ill patients and their families.
- Recognising and treating patients as individuals.
- Administering medications and treatment within local/national guidelines.
- Maintaining Trust/NMC documentation.
- Demonstrating the ability to meet our trust values.
- Having appropriate communication skills across the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring patients receive compassionate care and maintain dignity.
- Acting as a role model for junior staff.
Skills and Experience:
- NMC Registered General Nurse.
- Equivalent to 12 months full-time, recent experience in an Acute ward setting.
- Knowledge of Intensive Care nursing.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of acutely ill patients.
- Manual dexterity for the administration of intravenous treatments.
- Standing for long periods.
- Ability to assist effectively in the movement and manual handling of patients in line with trust manual handling procedures.
- Experience in resuscitation of patients.
