We have an excellent opportunity in a community setting for an enthusiastic, passionate, and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist looking to develop their skills and experience. The role offers opportunities to work within a local and service-wide Multidisciplinary team, with training, clinical supervision, and CPD opportunities.

Our successful candidate will work flexibly, supporting people living across our area to achieve their occupational outcomes. If you are interested in supporting a wide range of individuals to achieve their occupational outcomes, develop your skills and knowledge, and work within a supportive and experienced team, we look forward to your application.

  • Use standardized and non-standardized assessments to evaluate the impact of a referred person's learning disability on their occupational participation and performance, including identifying their strengths and support needs in volition, habituation, performance skills, and environment.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to develop occupational participation and performance in areas such as productivity, self-care, and leisure.
  • Work with carers and support staff to facilitate, develop, and maintain occupational performance, improving quality of life based on the individual's needs and goals.
  • Use accepted tools to assess and support individuals with a learning disability to achieve occupational outcomes related to functional ability and occupational performance improvement.

Skills:

  • Current or previous experience working with adults/children with learning disabilities and ASD (including student placements).
  • Passion or special interest in working with this population.
  • Previous community MDT experience.
  • Evidence of the value of OT-based interventions within any population.
  • Evidence of promoting the profession in the current role (including student placements).
