Job Summary:

  • Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist - Critical Care
  • Location: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
  • Team: Experienced Critical Care Therapy team
  • Schedule: 7 days a week
  • Experience Required: Acute hospital setting experience; critical care experience not essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional assessment and rehabilitation
  • Patient-centered care
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Discharge planning support

Supervision: Clinical and leadership development provided by highly specialist team

Main Duties:

  • Clinical Practice: Assess, diagnose, and manage a specialist caseload of complex patients autonomously.
  • Collaboration: Work with Care Groups to ensure high standards of care and optimal patient flow.
  • Training & Supervision: Assist in delivering training, supervision, and appraisals within the team.
  • Specialist Advice: Provide expert advice within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust.
  • Service Development: Engage in projects to enhance services, training, and learning opportunities.
