Atlantis Medical is looking for a skilled and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Acute Medicine and Admissions Unit at University Hospital Sussex. This role focuses on the rapid assessment and treatment of patients with acute medical conditions, including those with complex respiratory needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment in acute medicine, including respiratory interventions
- Manage a diverse and fast-paced caseload on the acute admissions unit
- Deliver respiratory care including chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and use of NIV (if competent)
- Work closely with the wider MDT including doctors, nurses, OTs, and discharge teams to facilitate timely and safe patient discharges
- Participate in prioritisation of referrals and early intervention to prevent deterioration
- Supervise junior physiotherapists, assistants, or students as required
Key Requirements:
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist
- Minimum 2 years post-grad experience, with substantial experience in acute hospital settings
- Proven skills in acute medicine, respiratory care, and patient discharge planning
- Confidence in working autonomously and managing a complex caseload
- Excellent communication and team-working abilities
- Flexible and adaptable approach, ideally with NHS experience
