CLINICAL DUTIES
- Perform a wide range of highly complex and specialised cardiac investigations, including echocardiograms in accordance with BSE standards.
- Respond appropriately to significant adverse findings, alerting medical staff when immediate attention is required.
- Plan and prioritise personal workload effectively.
- Communicate complex instructions and clinical information clearly to patients of all ages and their relatives to ensure cooperation, compliance, and safety.
- Use clinical judgment to seek advice from senior Physiology or Medical staff when necessary.
- Monitor patients appropriately during investigations and procedures.
- Recognise clinical conditions or events during investigations and act swiftly to minimise risks, including providing immediate life support if needed.
Experience
Proven experience in technical echocardiography, including independent practice in investigation, interpretation, reporting, and recommending further investigations. Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge to patient care across a broad range of cardiac procedures. Evidence of recent professional development.
