We are currently recruiting a Development Manager to join our team and contribute to key projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is part of a global team working toward common goals, operating as one company across all locations with shared responsibility and clear accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquisitions
    • Appraise project rights of acquisition opportunities working closely with the Business Development Team.
    • Identify projects with good fundamentals and highlight key risks, as well as potential mitigation measures.
    • Lead the technical internal and external due diligence phase and provide technical inputs as part of the investment appraisal process.
    • Recommend acquisition opportunities to the UK Business Development and Leadership Teams.
  • Development
    • Oversee development activities from site origination to ready‑to‑build status through existing Development Service Agreements.
    • Manage developers to drive forward the development life cycle and ensure best practice project fundamentals are achieved.
    • Conduct initial feasibility assessments across land, grid and planning to maximise project viability and economic returns.
    • Optimise land requirements and review land agreements such as option and lease agreements.
    • Review connection offers and ensure DSO / TSO milestones and requirements are satisfied to retain validity of connection agreement.
    • Oversee the planning process alongside the developer and planning consultants to maximise consenting success and minimise onerous conditions.
    • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, DSOs, TSOs, planning consultants and Local Planning Authorities (LPA).
    • Coordinate internal teams such as Corporate, Engineering, Financial and Legal to ensure successful and efficient development of projects.
    • Track project milestones, programmes, budgets and risk logs to ensure visibility and control of development activities.
    • Produce regular portfolio reports for internal reporting and decision making.
  • Procurement & Construction
    • Following achievement of ready‑to‑build status, ensure smooth transition and handover to the internal procurement and construction teams.
    • Continue to support Atlantica Project Manager during the pre‑construction and construction phases to retain land, grid, planning project rights.
    • Ensure contractors and suppliers comply with the planning permission and lead the discharge of the planning conditions with the LPA.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Project Management or a related field.
  • Project Management certification is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving License.

Experience and Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally in wind, solar PV and BESS projects.
  • Proven track record in development and project management.
  • Experience with landowners, DSOs, TSOs and LPAs in the UK.
  • Familiarity with Development Services Agreements, M&A processes and construction requirements.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills across a diverse range of stakeholders.
