Atlantic Resource (Services) Ltd. are working closely with the schools across Cardiff to source dedicated, reliable, and community-focused School Caretakers.
Full-Time | Split Shift or Full Day Patterns Available depending on the individual school.
As a School Caretaker, you will play a paramount role in creating a safe, clean, and well-operating environment for pupils, staff, and visitors alike.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Positions are Temp/ongoing and follow either a split shift (typically early morning and late afternoon) or a full day shift, depending on the individual school requirements.
Rate of pay will be dependent on the shift pattern, level of experience and responsibility required.
We’re looking for someone with practical maintenance experience, good communication skills, and a flexible, person-centred approach. You’ll need to be able to work independently, manage your workload, and be confident using basic technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening and securing the school site
- General maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning duties
- Ensuring safety across school buildings and outdoor areas
- Reporting any faults or maintenance issues promptly
- Basic plumbing, decorating, and garden care
- Conducting safety checks (fire alarms, emergency lights, water temp, etc.)
- Liaising with contractors and keeping accurate records
- Ensuring minimal disruption to the School
- A Full UK Driving licence AND Own Vehicle
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Reliable transport to Cardiff-based schools
- A positive, proactive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility
- No previous experience necessary however it is very much desirable.
