The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor with expertise in Carpentry to join our dynamic team at our office in Borehamwood. In this role, you will play a key role in the financial management of multiple carpentry and joinery projects from tender through to final account. You will work closely with our project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for carpentry packages
- Valuing works and producing monthly applications for payment
- Managing variations, change control, and cost reporting
- Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
- Reviewing contracts and assisting with risk and value management
- Supporting tender submissions and pricing of carpentry works
- Working closely with site teams to monitor progress and control costs
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within carpentry (required).
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software such as Bluebeam
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
- Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and financial management.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
