Overview

As an HGV Class 1 IFT 4on, 4 off Driver, you will:

  • Deliver goods as per manifest sheet.
  • Obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
  • Complete daily defect reporting of vehicles and trailers as required.
  • Communicate with Transport office staff and external customers.
  • Work as part of a team and be flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Complete vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with DVSA regulations.
  • Comply with Health and Safety (SSOW) and other related legislation.
  • Participate in the business\'s annual appraisal policy.
  • Unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner taking in all aspects of Health & Safety.
  • Occasionally handballing may be required in line with Manual Handling Guidelines.
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded in a safe manner and goods are secured appropriately.
  • Always ensure secure parking.
  • Ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Can work using own initiative and have a clear understanding of RTD and EU Regulations.
  • Fully understand your responsibilities towards the Company’s Operating License.

Essential requirements

  • Class C + E Licence
  • In date Drivers CPC
  • Digital Tachograph Holder
  • Less than 6 penalty points on Class 1 Licence

Desirable requirements

  • 2 Years commercial use experience of Class 1 Licence
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Tug experience/License

Role details

This role involves trunking between the Pirelli Site in Carlisle, and one of their other sites in either Burton or Barton. You will be taking a load south, dropping it at the required destination, selecting an empty trailer to be loaded with raw materials before returning to Carlisle after securing the load.
