We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive and reliable individual to join our Sales team. You will be responsible for developing specifications, managing regional distributor and contractor relationships and converting project opportunities into profitable sales. The role requires strong commercial discipline, the ability to remain resilient and calm under pressure, strong integrity and alignment with Atkore values, willingness to share best practice, excellent pipeline management and consistent collaboration with the wider Atkore sales organisation.

This position plays a key part in delivering the Unistrut growth strategy by identifying opportunities, building trusted relationships and ensuring clear routes to market are followed from project inception through to order conversion.

Division and Department Overview: The Unistrut Sales Team focuses on developing and converting specifications across major projects in the UK and Ireland. The team engages contractors, distributors and consultants to promote Unistrut support systems and cable management system solutions, ensuring strong regional coverage and clear commercial execution. This division leads on contractor influence, commercial protection, and driving early engagement at design stage. By working in partnership with the wider Atkore sales organisation, the team ensures customers receive coordinated support from initial concept through installation and after sales service.

The UK and Ireland Sales Department is responsible for delivering Atkore's growth strategy across all product brands. Working across Unistrut, Flexicon and Marco and the SDP vertical markets, the function drives specification led opportunities, strengthens distributor partnerships and ensures customers receive a consistent and high quality experience. The department works closely with contractors, distributors and consultants to influence project design, secure specifications and convert opportunities into profitable sales. Through structured account management, disciplined commercial processes and collaboration across divisions, the team ensures strong market presence and predictable revenue performance.

Specification & Project Development

  • Develop project specifications with consultants, contractors and end users.
  • Identify and track opportunities using Salesforce, regional insight and market intelligence.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from initial specification through distributor fulfilment.

Distributor & Account Management

  • Manage and develop regional Unistrut stockist accounts to support project demand.
  • Provide product training, joint visits and commercial support.
  • Build regional growth plans for key accounts.
  • Maintain commercial discipline to protect margin and strengthen routes to market.

Contractor Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 contractors.
  • Promote Unistrut support systems and cable management solutions through site and design engagement.
  • Influence contractor purchasing decisions to ensure preferred stockist alignment.
  • Support national contractor agreements through consistent regional execution.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Working

  • Work closely with the Unistrut Sales Manager on regional strategy and performance.
  • Work with vertical specialists in Rail, Renewables and Data Centres to maximise combined influence.
  • Support nationally aligned initiatives, training and continuous improvement projects.

Data, Reporting & Commercial Discipline

  • Maintain accurate project, account and activity data within Salesforce.
  • Use Power BI and Excel to support forecasting, planning and opportunity assessment.
  • Improve regional margin performance through informed pricing decisions.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline health, performance and customer activity.

Strong IT literacy including Salesforce, Excel and Power BI. Field-based sales experience within construction, M&E, distribution or technical product environments. Experience developing specifications and managing contractor/distributor relationships. Understanding of commercial structures, pricing and negotiation. Knowledge of the project lifecycle and specification-led sales process. Strong planning, organisation and time management. Able to present technical and commercial information confidently. Data-led approach to decision making and performance improvement. Bachelor's degree or equivalent within engineering, business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within OEM. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Commercial experience with proven ability to increase sales in key accounts and industrial markets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Experience of working in industrial manufacturing is essential. Ability to travel nationally as & when required. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
