The Senior or Principal Waste Management Consultant will work within project teams to win and deliver work, providing technically excellent solutions for both public and private sector clients in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading waste projects, supporting business development, engaging with clients, and responding to technical and financial queries.
  • Leading and supporting technical, practical and theoretical aspects of waste projects.
  • Developing and implementing waste strategies and business planning.
  • Conducting waste modelling, data analysis and legislative compliance assessments.
  • Designing and planning waste management systems and large waste infrastructure.
  • Preparing construction waste and logistics management plans, feasibility studies, and due diligence projects.
  • Engaging with clients and supporting business development activities.
  • Travelling as required within the UK and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Honours or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A strong background in the waste management industry, including treatment technologies, waste planning, and legislation.
  • Membership or working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management or a similar institute.
  • Detailed knowledge of the waste management industry.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient report writing and high numeracy and literacy levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.
  • Understanding of solid waste treatment and management systems such as construction and logistics, waste‑to‑energy, composting, advanced thermal treatment, recycling, and landfilling.
  • Awareness of the carbon impacts associated with the waste industry and ability to analyse related data.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and entrepreneurial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
  • Prepared to take on new challenges and travel.
