Your role
- Development of computer models to investigate water network issues and investment needs and generation of outline solutions.
- Analysis of data.
- Supporting the development of engineering solutions and advising to our clients to help them make better asset investment decisions.
- Support development of reports and other project deliverables.
- Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments.
- Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates at higher grades.
- Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development at higher grades.
- Contributing towards technical innovation.
About You
Experience/awareness of urban drainage modelling within InfoWorks ICM (or CS), GIS packages such as ArcMap or MapInfo and civil engineering would be advantageous but not essential. Roles will involve working on feasibility studies, computer analysis to support flooding and environmental improvement projects, site visits and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other professional bodies.
Desirable requirements
- Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
- Experience in Wastewater modelling and distribution networks.
- Building and calibrating network models.
- Using network models for planning, operational and solution development purposes.
- Experience with InfoWorks ICM (or CS) and other modelling software.
Required qualifications
- Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
- Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
- Ability to check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement.
- Implementation of industry leading solutions and development of innovative solutions.
- Management and technical supervision of a team of waste water modellers.
- Supervision of report writing and check and review of outputs.
Desirable qualifications
- BSc/BEng/MEng degree level in geography, GIS, science, engineering related subject or equivalent.
- Technician roles require HNC, HND level qualification in similar subjects. Opportunities to work towards qualifications will be available.
