Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways / rail authorities, and developers. It\’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit an Urban Drainage Modeller to join our Wastewater Team in Newcastle.
Your role
- To develop computer models, to investigate flooding and environmental problems and generation of outline solutions.
- Build, verification and analysis of hydraulic sewer models outputs.
- To development of 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
- Data handling and analysis.
- Use of GIS software (such as MapInfo & ArcGIS), to support our understanding of complex environmental problems.
- Development of reports and other project deliverables.
- Survey planning and survey supervision.
- To support junior members of the team, to proactively solve environmental problems for our clients.
About You
- An understanding of the UK water industry, environment and sustainability and desire to apply your skills to the challenges the environment faces.
- Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
- Proactive self-starter, with a desire to learn and develop technically and be working towards a professional qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
