Reporting to the Telecoms Testing Manager, the work is mainly site based on projects and as such there may be a requirement to lodge away for extended periods of time and to work unsocial hours. You must hold a full UK driving Licence.

Requirements:
  • Experience in Railway Operational Telecoms.
  • Hold appropriate IRSE telecoms testing license (desirable).
  • Thorough and detailed knowledge of Network Rail Telecoms Standards.
  • Good knowledge of Railway Group NWR company standards requirements.
  • Good personnel management and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure during intense periods of commissioning etc.
  • Current Driving Licence.
  • Willing to work flexibly and efficiently in support of the project.
  • Experience of Fibre Optic testing methods.
  • Experience of Copper cable testing.
Responsibilities:
  • Undertake testing duties within the scope of Certificate of Competency held.
  • Ensure adherence to the AtkinsRéalis rail standards, procedures, processes covering all engineering, safety, administrative and project requirements.
  • Co-operate with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute where appropriate to AtkinsRéalis rail commitment for continual improvement.
  • Manage testing and commissioning of telecoms equipment to meet contract specifications, performance and safety parameters.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, procedures, innovations and initiatives.
  • Encourage and promote the advancement of staff as a route to self-development.
  • Co-operate with performance appraisals, attend training courses, maintain IRSE logbook to an acceptable standard.
  • Progress individual knowledge and skills to promote advancement.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
