Connect Plus services are seeking to appoint a Street Lighting Engineer to join our team on the M25 DBFO project. This position involves undertaking design projects, managing timelines and external consultants, and ensuring effective communication among team members, the supply chain, and internal and external stakeholders.

Your role

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing design projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Undertake lighting designs using Lighting Reality design or similar software.
  • Undertake electrical designs using associated software.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including project briefs, timelines, and works information.
  • Ensure all files are organized and accessible.
  • Manage external consultants undertaking designs.
  • Review design outputs for accuracy and consistency, ensuring they align with project goals, the DMRB and relevant standards, liaising with internal and external engineers.
  • Resolve engineering issues both on site and with design teams.
  • Create and manage trackers/registers for engineering/design deliverables.
  • Produce and collate O&M manuals and H&S files.
  • Collect and organize feedback from the supply chain, client, and internal teams, ensuring it is communicated effectively.
  • Stay updated on the DMRB and changes in standards and best practices, sharing insights with the team to achieve solutions.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or a related field preferred.
  • ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma preferred.
  • Proven experience in a Highway Lighting project.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with the DMRB, MCHW, British and European regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Passion for design and a desire to contribute to a creative team.
  • Member of a professional body.
  • Professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification.

Additional information

This role may require security clearance; offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of residency in the UK of five years or longer.
