The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 € per year.

To lead and manage the on-site delivery of rail systems works—ensuring safe execution, technical compliance, and timely progress—while coordinating contractors, resolving site issues, and maintaining high standards of quality, integration, and stakeholder communication across all project phases.

Your role

  • Provide direct oversight on-site to ensure safe systems of work, quality controls, and proper construction sequencing are consistently implemented.
  • Serve as the on-site representative, acting as the project's conscience with respect to safety, quality, and technical compliance at all times.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to NR/L2/OHS/044 – Planning and Managing Construction Works, including full compliance with Safe System of Work Packs (SSWP) and associated requirements.
  • Verify Sentinel competence and confirm that Safe Work Packs accurately reflect prevailing site conditions and are briefed in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/044 standards.
  • Monitor and manage welfare provisions in line with CDM 2015, ensuring that all duties of the Principal Contractor under Regulation 13 are fully met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Record progress against planned works, identify variances between planned and actual performance, and agree on corrective actions as required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, subcontractors, multi-disciplinary teams, and contractors to support smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards for installation works, identify improvement opportunities, and support AtkinsRéalis' commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Monitor technical requirements, ensure subcontractor adherence to quality plans, address site technical issues, support the management of variations and contract claims, and participate in safety meetings and briefings.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of work sites, review records and procedures, verify contractor compliance with assurance cases, HSQE plans, work package plans, task briefs, and risk assessments, and ensure timely dissemination of relevant information to staff and subcontractors.

About You

  • Extensive years of site-based construction experience, specifically within signalling and/or multi-discipline rail projects.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with other rail-related technical disciplines.
  • Qualifications or working knowledge in areas such as Working at Height, Confined Space operations, Cable Avoidance, plant operations (including ALO), lift planning, man-machine interface, isolations, and worksite management.
  • Proven track record in project supervision within a rail or construction environment.
  • Relevant safety qualifications such as IOSH or CITB, including SMSTS or Managing People Safely.
  • Possession of essential safety-critical competencies such as PTS, IWA, and COSS.
  • Comprehensive understanding of rail industry regulations, including NR/L2/OHS/019 Safety of People at Work On or Near the Line and NR/L2/OHS/044 Planning and Managing Construction Work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to use digital tools effectively for reporting and coordination.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both the workforce and management teams.
  • A proactive leader and motivator with a strong sense of responsibility and a willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. This will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
