We are recruiting enthusiastic and conscientious Signalling Design Managers / Design CREs across various UK locations including Belfast, Glasgow, York, Birmingham, and Swindon. As part of our Signalling Business, you’ll develop your design delivery skills across all project phases—from feasibility to close-out. Our projects include major resignalling schemes, station enhancements, track renewals, and more, utilizing the latest technologies and delivery processes. Your experience will be valued, and you’ll have opportunities to maximize your potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with client requirements, safety, and technical standards.
  • Deliver signalling design packages on time and within budget.
  • Participate in meetings and liaise with project teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Contribute to estimates and tenders.
  • Manage and mentor design staff.
Requirements:
  • Current IRSE 7.8.110E Engineering Manager (Design) Licence or working towards CRE competency per NR/L2/RSE/02009/01.
  • Leadership experience in signalling design projects as Design Manager and/or CRE.
  • Extensive UK railway signalling design experience, familiar with standards and processes.
  • Proven CRE duties experience in various project environments.
  • Experience with early development and detailed design stages, including track renewals and Stageworks.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical info clearly.
Preferred:
  • PTS certificate and IRSE workplace assessor qualification.
