As a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant you will collaborate with clients and design teams across the UK, leading environmental management integration across sectors such as Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, Education, Rail and Water.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination and delivery of environmental work undertaken by multidisciplinary teams, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), option appraisals and environmental management.
- Champion high standards of environmental performance within engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal outcomes.
- Collate and edit information from various sources to produce clear, well‑written reports.
- Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, review the work of others and deliver on time and to budget.
- Manage client needs in a confident, professional manner.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and effective communication.
- Lead and support bid preparation and develop new business areas.
- Undertake continual professional development in accordance with relevant professional institute requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject with chartership from a relevant institution.
- Substantial post‑graduate experience, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Experience on linear infrastructure projects would be beneficial.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical specialisms.
- Leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills, able to review others\’ work for quality.
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to work from different AtkinsRéalis or client locations.
- High self‑motivation, enthusiasm and commitment to sustainable outcomes.
