Join as a Senior Lighting Engineer in our Transportation team. We work on projects of all types and sizes, from large infrastructure and highway schemes to car parks with EV charging. Our projects are bringing digitalisation to lighting solutions and transforming the way people live and work. And you\’ll be part of these collaborative design teams based across the country and the world. It\’s an exciting era for lighting, with the rise of intelligent networks, active travel and net zero carbon. To lead in emerging areas that interest you, all you need to do is speak up and take the initiative.

We offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base office location two days per week and at home for three days. The office locations are Epsom, Chelmsford, Nottingham and Warrington.

Your purpose:

  • Responsible for the delivery of technical consultancy and design support related to multi-disciplinary and exterior lighting projects as required.
  • Liaising with customers in a responsive and client focused manner.
  • Engaging with customers and other stakeholders to develop innovative low carbon solutions
  • Supporting the Team Leader and other teams with the development of technical solutions, reports and management of projects.
  • Support the Team Leader in developing fee estimate proposals.
  • Delivering projects to time and budget.
  • Assigning work to and checking the project work of other staff.
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of others.
  • Promoting the benefits of sustainable lighting solutions.
  • What you can bring:

  • Extensive experience of delivering a wide variety of exterior lighting and electrical solutions.
  • Proven ability to apply lighting standards and your experience in such a way to deliver client requirements.
  • Proficient in discipline related design software particularly AutoCAD and BIM related plugin’s, Lighting Reality and electrical cable sizing software.
  • Substantial experience of National Highways (NH) and/or local authority requirements.
  • Proven ability to act as discipline lead on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Ability to supervise a small team undertaking checks and inspections of constructed works for compliance with design and specifications, including monitoring and proposing remedial actions.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement at senior client and contractor levels.
  • Experience of undertaking daytime and night-time lighting surveys and assessments.
