The Role: We are seeking a Senior Engineer / Associate Principal Engineer to join our Bridges and Civils team within our Transportation Practice, based in Epsom. You will support high-profile projects across the UK, including highway improvement schemes, local authority projects, and national frameworks. Your responsibilities include delivering civil and structural design packages, managing projects and design packages, supporting resource planning, and ensuring quality and profitability.
Applicants should have a civil engineering background, experience with highway and local authority projects, and familiarity with project development stages. If you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply—our goal is an inclusive, diverse workplace.
Qualifications:
- BEng / MEng or MSc in civil engineering or equivalent
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
Expected Criteria:
- Experience with key clients like National Highways, Local Authorities, or Contractors
- Experience in bids, tenders, and client relationship development
- Knowledge of design standards (e.g., DMRB, TSRGD, MCHW, Eurocodes, AASHTO)
- Ability to manage scopes, budgets, and project timelines
- Strong project management, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
