Overview
In GTC, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business is part of Infrastructure vertical. T&D business is executing projects in the UK, Middle East, Canada, ANZ & other countries.
T&D business is looking for experienced engineers in Balance of Plant Discipline, as we look to grow the team in line with business requirements.

Your role
- Using your experience and knowledge, you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of projects and making sure it meets our client's'expectations.
- Preparation of basis of design, electrical design risk assessments, system configuration report etc.
- Preparing the proposal and man hour estimations.
- Technical bid evaluation and vendor drawing review.
- Clash detection and co-ordination with other Utilities.
- Review design drawings / models developed on software such as Navisworks, Plant 3D, Revit, Civil 3D etc.
- Preparation of load list, Single Line Diagram (SLD)
- Transformer, switchgears, Battery / UPS, Emergency generator and other electrical equipment sizing calculations
- Electrical equipment protection and control including CT/PT sizing, control cable selection and preparation of the IO list.
- LV and MV cable sizing, Cable Schedule and Routing
- Preparation of electrical equipment layout and cable tray layout
- Lightning risk assessment, earthing calculations and layout preparation.
- Indoor and outdoor lighting calculation and preparation of illumination layout
- Small power supply system design
- Cable tray, cable duct, conduit sizing and routing
About you
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with minimum 8-10 years of relevant detailed design experience in thermal / nuclear and renewable energy sector.
- Detailed knowledge of power generation and distribution equipment such as Solar PV Cells, BESS, generator, transformer, switchgear, protective relays, cables, motors, battery system, UPS / Inverter / converter is required.
- Good knowledge of software like Trimble Pro Design (Amtech), ETAP, DIALux evo
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D BIM environment
- Good knowledge on IEC / BS / IEEE standards and other international standards.
- Ability to perform as an individual contributor or lead projects, depending on business needs.
- Experience in renewable energy sector such as Solar PV / Wind / BESS Plant design
- Knowledge of PVsyst / Helio Scope is desirable
