Take the lead in global nuclear safety. Join us as a Senior Criticality Safety Engineer in our Nuclear & Power Division, and play a vital role designing complex new schemes to protect our clients' assets. This role offers opportunities to grow and challenge yourself across a variety of projects.

Your purpose: Supporting delivery on client projects within the Nuclear and Power business, either on behalf of AtkinsRéalis or within the client’s organization. The role encompasses all project stages, from setup to completion, across industries like New Build, Generation, Defence, Decommissioning, and Disposal. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams in highly regulated nuclear environments, focusing on enhancing radiation protection and safety processes, assisting with bids and proposals, and fostering our safety culture.

What you can bring?

  • Science or engineering expertise (physics, chemistry, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering, Degree qualified or equivalent).
  • Experience with industry radiation transport codes such as MCNP, MONK, SCALE for k-effective calculations.
  • Successful delivery of criticality assessments and related documentation (HAZANS, CANs, CCCs).
  • Experience working as a criticality safety engineer in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership and teamwork qualities.
  • Understanding of design requirements in safety-critical industries like Nuclear.
  • Project and client management skills.
