Job Description

We are AtkinsRéalis , Architecture, Master planning and Landscape Practice. We are a leading UK-based design Practice, with global reach, whose reputation is built on a culture of open collaboration, creating and delivering excellence in all we do. Our expertise ranges across all key sectors of the built environment: Master planning, Aviation, Commercial, Defence, Education, Transport, Urban Regeneration, Retrofit and Residential.

Due to new opportunities and a strong pipeline of work across our defence and other governmental sectors we are looking to recruit Architects to work in our specialist teams across these sectors. You will have the opportunity to take a leading role on a large variety of challenging design projects across the UK. You will collaborate with national and international multi-disciplinary design teams, using your insight and creativity to generate positive, sustainable, impactful designs. We have a strong practice design manifesto and always drive to deliver the best.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of individual schemes across the defence, government and related sectors, at stages ranging from inception to completion.
  • Ensuring design responses are pragmatic and respond to the client brief whilst capturing opportunities and constraints that each site affords, through great design, climate, context and culture.
  • Preparing feasibility options for various projects and working with other disciplines to test the validity of designs.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team through the project work stages.
  • Support in securing new business opportunities including bid writing, undertaking presentations to clients/project stakeholders.
  • Client and stakeholder facing responsibilities.
  • Communicating schemes in a mixed portfolio of media from sketches and CAD to the latest 3D software packages.
  • Requirements:

  • Qualified Architect – ARB or RIBA member.
  • Experience of working and delivering projects across defence, government or related sectors would be beneficial.
  • Experience of producing strong design concepts.
  • Able to communicate and present information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of working and completing tasks independently as well as demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
  • Working Knowledge of software’s including REVIT, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup desirable.

    This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
