Responsibilities
- The role is to contribute to the design of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems solutions for AtkinsRéalis clients. The systems can vary from simpler and conventional EC&I hard‑wired systems to complex multi‑panel systems with significant programmable elements, used in safety or security‑critical contexts.
- Lead EC&I engineering project teams while working closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Responsible for the overall delivery of early‑stage requirements FEED (Front End Engineering Design) work packages, which can include a broad range of EC&I and Control Systems work scopes.
- Responsible for the overall delivery of requirements, detailed design and implementation phase work packages, which can include a broad range of EC&I and Control Systems deliverables and artefacts.
- Input into the overall direction of the EC&I Capability and resourcing; capable of leading project teams comprising junior to senior engineers and consultants.
- Knowledge and experience of a broad range of control systems and electrical control equipment and its applications in automated and safety related systems.
- Experience engaging with clients to understand technical and contractual requirements, and developing successful working relationships with engineers and consultants at all levels of AtkinsRéalis.
- Experienced in the design, implementation, substantiation, verification & validation and safety justification of high‑integrity software‑based protection and/or safety control systems.
Qualifications
- Chartered engineer status with a relevant professional body.
- Accredited Functional Safety Engineer (e.g., TUV Rheinland IEC 1615‑08/IEC 61511 FSEng).
