This is an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Assistant Part 2 to join a dynamic team and contribute to projects from concept design through to technical delivery. The role offers valuable hands-on experience within multidisciplinary project teams while supporting continued professional development towards Part 3 qualification and registration as an Architect.

Your role

  • Support the development of architectural designs from concept through to detailed design.
  • Prepare drawings, reports, presentations and technical information.
  • Develop and coordinate BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Assist with planning applications, design reports and presentation material.
  • Undertake design research, site analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project delivery in accordance with programme, quality and budget requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Contribute to sustainability and Net Zero design objectives.
  • Assist senior team members with project administration and technical coordination.
  • Support studio initiatives and contribute positively to the development of the Newcastle team.

About you

  • RIBA Part 2 qualification or nearing completion.
  • Strong design, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Good understanding of the UK architectural design process.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.

Desirable requirements

  • Experience working within an architectural practice.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and technical design.
  • Experience could include healthcare, education, commercial or public sector projects.
  • Understanding of BIM processes and digital delivery.
  • Experience with visualisation software such as Enscape, Twinmotion or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interest in sustainable and low-carbon design.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
