As a Piping Engineer, you\’ll play an important role in projects across our Nuclear & Power Division. You will contribute to projects that improve thousands of lives daily, working on a broad range of projects with opportunities for technical development.
Your Purpose
The role involves leading projects to deliver piping solutions for new nuclear stations, support existing nuclear fleet operations, and decommission nuclear sites.
Day-to-day Activities May Include:
- Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or relevant qualification).
- Experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis.
- Writing detailed technical reports such as design substantiations and safety case references.
- Engaging with clients, understanding their issues, goals, and processes.
What You Can Bring
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with:
- Qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Good engineering judgment and fundamental engineering skills.
- Experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in safety-critical, regulated environments like nuclear power.
- Working towards chartership.
- Knowledge of design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445.
- Awareness of UK piping legislation.
