Working within our Fusion and Advanced Reactors team, you’ll be joining an ambitious group delivering projects across the advanced reactor design and fusion markets; all of which demand a multi‑disciplinary approach to deliver solutions to problems that have not yet been broached in the nuclear engineering industry. We achieve success by working in close partnership with our clients, matching our skills to their needs, being flexible, and using our resources efficiently. Whether we’re delivering high‑quality engineering and technical services or programme management, we always deliver the solution that’s right for them.
Your role
You will work within small to medium‑sized multidisciplinary teams. To benefit from the collective experience of the team, our clients, and drive innovative thinking, you’ll work in a collaborative and supportive office/site environment for a minimum of half of your working week. You may also be based at client offices or plant sites. You will bring a level of commercial awareness to working within those teams to effectively deliver tasks for multiple workstreams and to deliver on time, quality, and cost.
About You
- Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).
- Experience in originating and progressing designs from concept through to detailed design, to a given set of requirements and constraints.
- Good working knowledge of solid mechanics, engineering materials, structural and thermal engineering.
- Ability to perform design calculations from first principles.
- Proven strong problem‑solving, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to write accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports.

- Providing innovative design solutions to meet challenging requirements, drawing from a mix of industry experience and the ability to produce novel designs.
