Overview

Atkins Réalis is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Opportunity Development, Capture & Bids Manager to help drive growth across our Nuclear EMEA Digital, Products and Technology (DP&T) business.

This role sits at the intersection of business development, capture management, bid leadership and commercial operations.

You will be responsible for managing the opportunity pipeline, driving capture activities, leading strategic bids and supporting the conversion of opportunities into contracted revenue.

Working closely with market leads, technical teams, project managers and senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping our growth strategy and ensuring opportunities are progressed efficiently from identification through to contract award.

Your role

  • Managing and maintaining the DP&T sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting, reporting and opportunity tracking.
  • Acting as the focal point for CRM governance, ensuring opportunities, contacts, pursuits and sales metrics are up to date and reliable.
  • Coordinating capture and bid activities across a portfolio of opportunities ranging from framework call offs and proposals through to major strategic pursuits.
  • Supporting bid and no bid decisions through opportunity qualification, risk assessment, competitor analysis and win strategy development.
  • Leading proposal development activities, working with technical and commercial teams to develop compelling, compliant and customer focused proposals.
  • Demonstrating strong commercial acumen to qualify opportunities, assess risk and value, develop winning strategies and support negotiations through to contract award and purchase order placement.
  • Owning opportunity progression from qualification through to contract award and purchase order placement, ensuring opportunities are actively managed, commercially viable and successfully transitioned into project delivery.
  • Supporting the development of customer facing collateral, case studies, CVs, presentations and other business development materials.
  • Driving continuous improvement in sales governance, bid processes, knowledge management and lessons learned.
  • Producing regular pipeline, capture and bid performance reports for leadership teams, driving accountability and informed decision making across the business.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders to support long term growth.

About you

We are seeking someone with a strong background in business development, capture management, bid leadership or commercial operations within engineering, nuclear, defence, infrastructure, technology or related sectors.

  • You will ideally have
  • Experience managing complex bids and proposals within a structured governance environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience of developing winning propositions, supporting commercial negotiations and successfully converting opportunities into secured work.
  • Strong understanding of business development, capture management and sales processes.
  • Experience maintaining CRM systems and opportunity pipelines, including forecasting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of public and private sector procurement processes and tendering routes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Experience developing bid strategies, win themes and customer focused value propositions.
  • Strong written communication and proposal development capabilities.
  • APMP Foundation, Practitioner or Professional certification, CIPS, business development, commercial management or equivalent professional qualifications would be advantageous.
