We are a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company creating innovative solutions for complex infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Project Controller to join our newly established team in Puerto Rico.
Location: Puerto Rico / Glasgow
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Budget Management: Develop and maintain detailed project budgets for EPC projects, monitor and control expenditures, identify and report variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis and forecasting, prepare cost estimates for new projects and changes, analyze performance, implement cost‐saving measures, and identify trend impacts.
- Schedule Coordination: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using PIMS, coordinate with operational team, monitor timelines, adjust schedules, record changes, and develop forecasts.
- Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation, track utilization, identify constraints, and resolve conflicts with project managers.
- Risk Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, maintain risk register, conduct risk assessments, and communicate findings.
- Reporting on Operations: Prepare and present financial and progress reports, develop dashboards, and ensure transparency in all reporting activities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements; conduct audits, implement corrective actions, manage inventory, and adhere to safety regulations.
- Contract Management/Commercial: Monitor contract performance, address issues, assess claims and change orders, collaborate with legal and procurement teams, and support tendering teams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution, facilitate communication, and provide financial and scheduling input at meetings.
- Site Visits: Periodically travel to sites approximately once per quarter to report observations on health & safety, construction progress, material & equipment inventory.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Solid experience in project control within the Energy construction or EPC sector, including Puerto Rico local requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software and financial analysis tools; excellent computer literacy.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, risk management knowledge, and ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient in English and Spanish.
- High accuracy and attention to detail; experience reading and understanding contracts.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across functions.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
