Your role includes:

  • Working collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects.
  • Leading and coordinating Socio-economic Screening, Scoping Assessments (EIA) and related consent documents.
  • Providing critical review of EIA documents.
  • Developing local plan evidence bases - local housing needs assessment, employment land review.
  • Developing Infrastructure Delivery Plans.
  • Leading on and supporting bids and tender opportunities.
  • Acting as technical lead on projects.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and clients.
  • Assisting in developing new areas of business.
  • Project management.
  • Mentoring support junior colleagues.

About you:

  • Educated to a degree level in an economics / planning / geography / mathematics or related discipline, postgraduate qualification a plus.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing with a passion for the environment.
  • Understanding of consenting and permitting across a range of project types/jurisdictions.
  • Expertise in economic impact analyses for a broad range of assessments and client audiences.
  • Expertise in business case making.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure and deliver technical excellence.
  • Excellent reporting / analytical skills.
  • Experience of bids/tender preparation.
  • Experience of delivering a project from bid to completion.
  • Membership of professional body.
  • Leading on the coordination and delivery of work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), options appraisals and environmental management.
  • Collate and edit information from a range of sources to provide clear, well written reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Able to manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
  • Lead and support on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team.
  • Undertake Continual Professional Development in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
