  • Our team is looking for engineers with an understanding of electrical engineering, power systems, and energy markets, who are keen to develop their knowledge and make a meaningful contribution to the energy sector.

  • In this role, you’ll be part of a team working on design and advisory projects in the energy sector, with a focus on electricity transmission and distribution networks.
  • You’ll also have opportunities to support projects across the wider Power & Energy Solutions team and AtkinsRéalis business.
  • Some of our clients include National Grid, SSEN, and Ofgem, in addition to other organisations both in the UK and internationally.
  • You’ll gain experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects related to research and analysis (such as feasibility studies) and design (such as Front-End Engineering Design).
  • This role also offers personal development, training, and support towards chartership, with plenty of opportunity to get involved in a wide range of impactful projects.
  • Researching topics and collating data to identify recommendations for substation development.
  • Evaluating transmission and distribution networks for new grid connections.
  • Developing designs for substations and electrical networks.
  • In addition to technical work, you’ll also have opportunities to get involved in project management, bidding and potential secondments, offering varied experience both internally and with clients.
  • There are also opportunities to get involved in business development activities, such as the Net Zero Superheroes school competition, or Engineering Net Zero thought leadership.
