The security and Training co-ordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing personnel security and training processes that enable staff and sub-contractors to work on our client site and access client information. The individual will ensure that all personnel training profiles are complete as per client requirements and that the training records are maintained and evidencable to the client. While ensuring we are compliant with AtkinsRéalis and client standards, legal requirements, and best practices, the role is a vital part in enabling personnel for full time sensitive work within various contracts and projects. This involves providing advisory support to ensure staff, contractors and 3rd party organisations are appropriately screened, trained and prepared to operate effectively.
Your role
- Develop, implement and maintain vetting, procedures and tools.
- Work in partnership with the Client to ensure high Standards are achieved and maintained.
- Facilitate background checks, due diligence on staff, contractors, and partners.
- Review and assess vetting outcomes, escalating concerns and recommending mitigation measures where required.
- Ensure vetting processes comply with legal, regulatory and data protection requirements.
- Maintain accurate, secure and confidential vetting records.
- Advise management on vetting risks, trends and compliance gaps.
- Develop training guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Develop processes that facilitate access to training.
- Develop and implement a role specific training matrix based on needs/requirements.
- Support managers and teams to understand the vetting and training requirements of the client, providing guidance to both internal teams and external contractors.
- Engage and advise with stakeholders.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on vetting and training matters.
- Provide a systematic approach to monitoring and reporting.
- Monitor adherence to vetting and training requirements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards and recommendations for AtkinsRéalis lead team.
- Support audits, reviews, and external assessments as required.
About you
- Proven experience in personnel vetting, compliance and training.
- Experience designing and delivering vetting and/or training programs.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working in regulated and secure environments.
- Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital vetting or learning management systems.
- Knowledge of the government Security Classification (GSC) policy.
- Knowledge of National Security Vetting (NSV) processes and clearance levels.
- Knowledge of HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
