AtkinsRéalis Transportation Division covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management from inception to options appraisal through to detailed scheme design and delivery support. AtkinsRéalis is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies engaged in numerous high‑profile projects for Clients in both the Public and Private Sector.

We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to be based in our Aylesbury office, co‑located with Client team to support the ongoing development and expansion of new Alliance Partnership. Working in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, technicians and other professionals, you will be responsible for the delivery of work packages that form part of the overall highway delivery which will include highway improvement and maintenance schemes whilst ensuring project governance is adhered to.

Your experience should demonstrate the successful design of projects meeting programme and budgets targets. Your communication skills and teamwork should be excellent, and you should be self‑motivated and able to support Team Leaders and technical staff in delivering projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality project and programme management standards.
  • Advise your client at any time on the project cost, programme, risks and issues.
  • Pricing up and initiating schemes.
  • Maintaining and developing excellent Stakeholder and Alliance relationships.
  • Produce monthly reports including project programmes, spend profiles and risk registers.
  • Implement effective and efficient communication tools.
  • Positively influence the internal team and seek to add value.
  • Ensure project deliverables are within scope, budget and programme.
  • Change control.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • APMQ, PMP, Prince 2 or alternatively, a good track record of project management ideally in structure maintenance or Highways.
Essential Criteria
  • Appropriate previous experience of working in this field.
  • Ability to act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and integrate into multi‑disciplinary teams or work independently.
  • Ability to innovate and implement new ideas.
  • Experience managing change.
  • NEC 3 or NEC 4 experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to report financial and progress information to Client audience.
  • Ability to assess and resolve resource planning and coordination issues.
  • Apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
  • Network effectively, negotiate well and influence people, broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the project.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
