Are you passionate about Net Zero, and looking for ways to apply your engineering management capability to a Net Zero Market? Engineers at AtkinsRéalis are at the heart of delivering transformative projects that are lowering carbon emissions whilst achieving future energy security. Our Net Zero Energy Business (within our Nuclear and Clean Power division) is actively involved in projects spanning energy storage (hydrogen storage caverns), industrial decarbonisation and green hydrogen.

Our business unit offers a stimulating variety of work, from feasibility studies through to detailed design, site surveys and design verification. We are currently delivering a portfolio of projects such as hydrogen production, gas storage, battery storage and industrial decarbonisation projects.

Our flexible and remote working policies are designed to help you get the most out of life. And when you join us, you\'ll be a part of a genuinely collaborative environment where everyone\'s voice is valued and treated equally.

Your purpose:

We are looking for someone versatile; you could be managing multiple small projects, or one larger, multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy working closely with clients on a range of demanding issues whilst helping to mentor and train more junior colleagues.

We are looking for people who can work with and lead engineering teams that are either co-located or geographically disparate. Engineering management roles will vary: some may cover management of several engineering teams whilst others may be leadership of larger engineering projects working as part of a project management team on behalf of AtkinsRéalis or one of our clients.

The ever-changing conditions of the energy industry means we need individuals who can adapt, change and thrive when working in dynamic environments, and we strive to balance these demands with a focus on inclusivity, well-being and flexible working which helps to bring the best out in all our staff.

Our culture, projects, technical support and delivery systems will provide you with all you need to bring your best on a domestic and world stage.

What you can bring?

With a leading market reputation and growing project demand we are looking for talented, professional Engineering Managers. If you have a strong background in the management of multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering projects ideally in a regulated energy infrastructure engineering environment – we want to hear from you! AtkinsRéalis is looking to build teams who can cover all elements of a project lifecycle - Pre-FEED, FEED, detail design, procurement, manufacture, construction/installation and commissioning.

In addition to having strong communication and leadership skills, you will be able to demonstrate a selection of the following desirable experience and attributes:

  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams, with recent experience of successfully managing either a portfolio of smaller engineering teams or the engineering team on a large design project or EP/EPC/EPCM project.
  • Good commercial skills, with direct experience of delivery of engineering within a highly regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, power, oil and gas, chemicals, large scale infrastructure).
  • Bidding and winning work.
  • Capable and confident of leading, building and maintaining strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Why work for AtkinsRéalis?

The UK is the first major economy to legislate for a Net Zero target by 2050. To achieve this, our nuclear and clean energy teams are ensuring a mix of secure and sustainable energies that can meet our industry and lifestyle demands today, and in 30 years\' time. We help to power our world through exciting new technologies and intelligent cybersecurity systems on projects that vary greatly in size, scope, and scale. So, you\'ll be creating the right safe and resilient systems across nuclear power, renewables, decarbonisation development, new builds and energy efficiency.
