Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS and surface water management. Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways/rail authorities, and developers.
It’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit a Hydraulic Modeller to join our Water and Wastewater Team in Glasgow/Edinburgh. We are looking for entry-level candidates who may have limited experience in the area but with good analytical skills and a desire to learn.
What you can bring:- An understanding of the UK water industry, environment and sustainability and desire to apply your skills to the challenges the environment faces.
- Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
- Proactive self-starter, with a desire to learn and develop technically and be working towards a professional qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Your purpose:- To develop computer models, to investigate flooding and environmental problems and generation of outline solutions.
- Build, verification and analysis of hydraulic sewer models outputs.
- To development of 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
- Data handling and analysis.
- Use of GIS software (such as MapInfo & ArcGIS), to support our understanding of complex environmental problems.
- Development of reports and other project deliverables.
- Survey planning and survey supervision.
- To support junior members of the team, to proactively solve environmental problems for our clients.

Rewards and Benefits:We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell off that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
