AtkinsRéalis is a leading name in Surface Water Management (SWM) and drives the dialogue globally on integrating drainage into green blue infrastructure and masterplanning. Join our multi‑disciplinary team working nationally with water companies, local authorities, highways, rail authorities and developers on major projects. The successful candidate will work closely with technical experts, mentor staff, liaise with key clients and develop into the regional point of contact for Surface Water Management and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). Experience in drainage and SuDS plus an interest in planning, ecology, landscape architecture, environmental economics and management is preferred.
Your role
- Develop concepts and designs for drainage and SuDS for different clients.
- Project and design manage schemes, delivering projects on time and to budget.
- Maintain high awareness of legislative changes.
- Identify business development opportunities.
- Prepare financial and technical proposals for project opportunities.
- Co‑ordinate with multidisciplinary teams and site teams.
- Interface with clients and stakeholders.
About you
- Degree in a relevant subject.
- Appropriate experience post‑graduation.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in drainage design, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
- Knowledge of industry‑standard drainage network design.
- Competence in AutoCAD and hydraulic modelling – preferably Microdrainage.
- Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects on time and to budget.
- First‑class written and oral communication skills.
- A natural curiosity for developing innovative, sustainable and cost‑effective solutions for our clients.
- Experience working on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Competence in Civil3D.
- Sound commercial understanding.
- Team builder, developing the technical excellence of the team.
- Able to develop and motivate others.
- Proven record of developing client relationships.
- Attained or working towards a relevant professional qualification.
