Our Power Grids Market, part of the Power, Renewables and Industrial Market is growing at a rapid pace. We are responsible for setting the strategy, planning for the future, managing our key client relationships, cross selling group wide capability and working with our engineering practices to deliver excellence and growth. Our Power Grids market focus is direct with regulated transmission & distribution companies indirect with Design and Build Contractors.

We are seeking an experienced Client Director (Key Account Manager) to join our Power Grids Market to focus on developing and growing our Power Grids position and offering across all GB Distribution Network Operators (DNO's). You will be a self-starter with responsibility for strategic engagement with all GB DNO's to understand their needs and develop and enact client plans and propositions, driving revenue growth and positioning AtkinsRéalis as the supplier of choice. You will use your DNO knowledge and contacts to identify multidiscipline opportunities, work with internal delivery practices and develop capture strategies. This role is open across AtkinsRéalis United Kingdom offices.
Your Role
- Be the focal point for all GB DNO's.
- Have, build and maintain strong relationships across the GB DNO organisations and internally within AtkinsRéalis to foster trust and collaboration.
- Work with the DNO Client Manager to develop and maintain a client plan / gold sheet for each GB DNO and facilitate regular KAM meetings and client strategy sessions.
- Gather market intelligence (projects, trends, competitors, pricing), analyse client needs, competitor capabilities and align AtkinsRéalis solutions to develop differentiated, compelling value propositions, and support the development of associated marketing campaigns.
- Ensure DNO Client managers manage the forward pipeline for each DNO account, tracking opportunities and implementing capture plans.
- For pursuits of utmost strategic importance and during peaks in workload act as Capture Manager, leading the development and execution of capture strategies and value propositions.
- Identify new opportunities and cross-sell AtkinsRéalis services.
- Engage with Engineering Practices to secure resources and deliver value.
- Oversee effective delivery of work across the GB DNO accounts and continuously improving and cross selling.
- Ensure adherence to governance processes and best practices.
- Have financial accountability for revenue growth.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success in Key Account Management and have excellent existing knowledge and active contacts across one or more of the GB DNO's (Preference to UKPN, NGED, SSEN & NPG). A background and experience working in Electricity Distribution. Proven experience of KAM in the engineering, construction, or professional services sectors. An understanding of engineering projects and terminology, with the ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable proposal content. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and adaptability. Ability to navigate complex client environments and influence perceptions. Commercial acumen and experience in bidding and winning work. Ability to see the 'big picture' and develop a coherent, long-term strategy for winning business in competitive markets. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously under pressure and with tight deadlines. Well-developed emotional intelligence with the ability to flex your style to suit different stakeholders and support others to do the same as part of wider development activity.
