Atkins Transportation Division covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management from inception to options appraisal through to detailed scheme design and delivery support. Atkins is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies engaged in numerous high-profile projects for Clients in both the Public and Private Sector.
We are seeking to recruit a supervisor to be based in our Aylesbury office, co-located with Client team to support the ongoing development and expansion of new Alliance Partnership. Working in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians and other professionals, you will be responsible for the work packages that form part of the overall highway delivery which will include highway improvement and maintenance schemes.
Your experience should demonstrate previous supervisory skills and your communication skills and teamwork should be excellent, and you should be self-motivated and able to support project managers and senior engineers in delivering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the project deliverables meet with the agreed standards and satisfy stakeholder requirements at each stage of the project.
- Support Project Managers and team and develop the successful delivery of projects using key project management principles, including risk management, control of quality whilst always maintaining a focus on safety.
- Co-ordinating resources to achieve successful delivery, ensuring Atkins quality of work is maintained and balanced against the Client’s own requirements.
- Identify and document specific actions including work streams being performed to produce the project deliverables.
- Maintaining and developing excellent Stakeholder and Alliance relationships.
Requirements:
Qualifications -
- A degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Alternatively, experience of project management ideally across transportation schemes.
Essential Criteria -
- Appropriate previous experience of working in this field.
- Ability to act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
- Ability to work collaboratively and integrate into multi-disciplinary teams or work independently.
Desirable Criteria –
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Ability to report financial and progress information to Client audience.
- Ability to assess and resolve site planning and coordination issues.
- Apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
- Network effectively, negotiate well and influence people, broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the project.
