As a Consultant Project Manager in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you'll be part of our Programme Delivery Practice. In your role, you'll enable organisations to achieve maximum benefits from digital transformation and innovative operations. You'll work directly with clients, identifying, shaping, and managing better delivery capabilities. You'll be supported to lead your own work packages or Agile delivery teams across our markets.

Your purpose: We are seeking Project Managers with varying levels of experience to work within the Defence market. This role is focused upon supporting and leading the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy programmes of varying complexity. You will act as Project Manager for a number of projects within the Account, and therefore:

  • Support the Senior Project Manager/Project Director with activities including but not limited to: financial budgeting, planning, and reporting; generation of management information.
  • Demonstrate good communication and engagement skills, specifically with client and project stakeholders, to manage escalated issues and develop strong relationships in support of ongoing delivery and business development.
  • Be able to anticipate and coordinate responses to client business needs.
  • Support and mentor graduates to aid their personal and professional development and increase the project management maturity and capability within the team.
  • Support the delivery of work in line with high regulated quality management environments in support of but not limited to internal and external audit processes.

What you can bring:

  • Demonstration of clear construction or built environment experience, including experience of working to RIBA, from the perspective of a contractor, consultant, or client.
  • Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with clients, contractors, other supply chain partners, and the wider stakeholder communities.
  • Good demonstrable commercial acumen (understands contracts, especially NEC 3 or NEC 4, and able to manage internal and external change effectively).
  • Additionally, able to support robust negotiations, balancing relationship and business needs.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing and operating, and potentially changing, Project Governance, Controls, and Reporting processes related to Planning, Risks/Issues, Finance, and Change Management.
  • Good Project Management skills, and knowledge of APM project management processes.
  • Good knowledge of financial processes including project cost control and ability to interpret and report financial data and analysis.
  • Ability to travel to Silchester/Reading/London and/or Bristol/Plymouth areas fairly regularly due to the need to converse with clients face-to-face.
