We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in our UK offices.
As a Principal Offshore Structural Engineer in our team, you will coordinate the delivery of our global portfolio of projects through various levels of development (conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects) for major offshore wind farm development or the asset management of those offshore wind farms, together with developing innovative solutions. You will be expected to provide effective leadership to a small team of offshore structural engineers and will be responsible for delivering work packages in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards. You’ll design and analyse both fixed and floating structures to be designed for the growing offshore renewables sector, actively helping to reduce the effects of climate change.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead projects or collaborate with the lead engineer to ensure successful completion of the project within the stipulated budget and timeframe.
- Execute structural analysis and design of offshore wind structures, including foundations for wind turbine generators, meteorological masts, and substation platforms.
- Exhibit advanced expertise in the design of monopiles or jackets or floating systems, employing integrated analysis techniques such as pile-soil interaction, PISA soil analysis, and time-domain analysis from wind and wave dynamic loading.
- Provide effective leadership for a small team, fostering innovation and proactivity within the project group in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Ensure that all design work under their purview is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved in accordance with engineering procedures or as specified in a Project Quality Plan.
- Be accountable for delivering assigned work packages.
Experience, Education and other requirements:
- Chartered engineer with more than twelve years of relevant experience in offshore industry with a focus on either Primary or Secondary Steel design preferably for Offshore Wind Turbine Generator Foundations or offshore substations.
- Experience in Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) foundation design, familiarity with design developments in the offshore wind industry, statutory regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
- Proficiency in the use of software such as ANSYS, SESAM, or to a lesser extent, SACS and STAADPRO.
- Solid theoretical foundation supported by practical experience in offshore structural activities such as transportation and installation procedures, design for manufacturability and offshore environmental loading.
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to adapt to diverse working environments.
- With “can-do” attitude, capacity to learn from others as well as being assertive in presenting own technical works.
- Mentoring more junior engineers to be part of the delivery team.

Rewards and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
