As a Senior Engineering Project Manager in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you will take the lead in our Programme Delivery Practice. Your role will be primarily client-facing, identifying, shaping, and managing better delivery capabilities. You will lead Agile delivery teams in markets such as Defence, Security & Intelligence, Energy and Transportation. And you will be supporting our clients to maximise the benefit of digital transformation and enable innovative ways of working.
Your purpose:
- Project Management is the ability to manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, with particular emphasis on the skills below:
- The skill to create, manipulate and manage financial forecasting data using Excel and company tools, and the ability to report this upwards.
- Demonstrable knowledge of financial controls and ability to interpret and report financial data.
- The ability to recognise and manage risks and opportunities with an appreciation of the financial impacts of both.
- An appreciation of change and the effects it has on project margin, resourcing, and outputs.
- The ability to plan and execute projects, focusing on time, cost, and quality.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of managing to a contract.
- The ability to commission and manage third party contractors.
- Soft skills:
- The ability to engage with people at all levels of both AtkinsRéalis and our clients’ organisations.
- The management and supervision of your project team will see you demonstrating the soft skills associated with getting the best out of people.
- The ability to build trust with your clients and enhance the AtkinsRéalis brand.
- An ability to communicate in written and verbal form with people at every level of their respective company's/organisations.
What can you bring?
You will be responsible for bringing to life and managing projects and directing project teams across a wide variety of Defence domains including, but not limited to, airworthiness & air safety, training, systems engineering, mechanical systems, IT & security, safety and supportability. You will be responsible for the end-to-end project management lifecycle using it to ensure your projects meet the needs of your clients and the needs of AtkinsRéalis. In your role you will be responsible for the delivery of our contracted work to time, cost, and quality. An ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, and possessing the skills needed to consult with your clients, is essential to this role. A commitment to continually develop your project management and knowledge and experience and attain/retain professional accreditation.
