You’ll play a key role in delivering projects within our Buildings & Places practice, taking responsibility for both design and project delivery across a varied client base. Our work is underpinned by a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, ethics, and safety, and you’ll be central to embedding these principles in everything you do.

You’ll lead and deliver a varied portfolio of building structures projects across sectors including Education, Commercial, Residential, Energy, Defence, and Transport. You’ll:

  • Lead the design and delivery of projects from concept to construction
  • Manage small project teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Act as a key client contact, building strong relationships
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient structural designs
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Identify new opportunities and contribute to business growth

Your role:

  • Deliver multiple projects, or components of larger schemes, to programme and budget.
  • Produce and oversee high-quality, efficient structural designs.
  • Apply your technical expertise across a broad range of building structures.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work, and project BIM Execution Plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and design teams.
  • Lead and support project teams, including mentoring junior engineers.
  • Manage your time effectively across competing project demands.
  • Oversee and guide small project teams, reporting to the team leader.
  • Build strong client relationships and help identify new business opportunities.

About You:

  • Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE), or close to achieving chartership.
  • Proven ability to lead structural delivery on small to medium projects.
  • Strong experience designing with common structural materials and current standards.
  • Familiarity with Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, or similar tools (desirable).
  • Experience delivering projects from concept through to construction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
