Due to continued growth, we are looking for an exceptional Associate Director to join our Cost Management (Project Controls) team, who possesses strong and proven Infrastructure experience, notably for Rail, Highway, Energy and Infrastructure and Water sectors.
The role will be reporting to the Head of Cost Management. You will play an integral part in supporting with the development and delivering the business plan for this rapidly expanding team. You will manage and plan resources, innovate and foster a collaborative, professional and positive working environment along with delivering an appropriate cost management role. This role will involve delivery, team management and business growth and working with external key strategic partners, new clients, and internal partners across the entire business.
Your role will include:
- Reporting into the Head of Cost Management as a senior member of the Complex Infrastructure Cost & Estimating Management team responsible for growing the existing team and building long term, sustainable team relationships with our Complex Infrastructure clients.
- Enhancing our Cost Management capability including leading on the development and use of Power-BI, PRISM, Oracle, and other Cost Management related software.
- Leading our community of practice and driving technical excellence, service innovation and supporting with the development of our benchmarking capabilities.
- Delivering excellent client service on our commissions through quality assurance and regular client care.
- Developing, mentoring, and supporting your teams on project/technical delivery.
Strategic responsibilities include:
- Delivering the strategy for the Cost Management Service including identifying continuous development.
- Delivering an exceptional cost management service for multiple stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for strategic recruitment and associated investments by the business, linked to the Complex Infrastructure business strategy.
- Ensuring appropriate engagement with the wider AtkinsRéalis business, as determined by the strategy.
- Developing a positive team ethos and continuing to create opportunities for the team’s development.
Business Development tasks involve:
- Supporting with the Cost Management business development activity.
- Reviewing our Key Account Management Plans for all key clients.
- Monitoring and managing Cost Management activity and associated expenditure within your remit.
- Generating high quality leadership material for use on the website and in the market.
- Securing year-on-year margin improvement on project delivery.
Project leadership requires:
- Having leadership skills necessary to direct and manage the project team.
- Being responsible, under minimum supervision, for delivering portfolios and projects relating to highways, Rail and other infrastructure sectors.
- Providing guidance and technical advice to different stakeholders, including effectively chairing meetings.
About you:
- Recognised expertise and experience in Cost Management services across complex infrastructure industry (either Rail, Highways, Water, Aviation).
- People Management experience and the ability to inspire and motivate teams and unlock future talent for the business.
- An excellent understanding of industry benchmarks/best practices, Cost and Work Breakdown Structures, and methods of measurements.
- Strong network within the energy and/or transport infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of service innovation, technical excellence, and exceptional service delivery.
