Your role
- Work individually and collaboratively within a team.
- Undertake ecological assessment and habitat design for a variety of development and nature recovery projects.
- Develop innovative and pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation.
- Collaborate within multi‑disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders and clients.
- Deliver clear, concise, high‑quality ecological deliverables in line with current guidance and good practice.
- Perform quality assurance of ecological deliverables.
- Act as ecology lead on projects.
- Manage tasks and projects.
- Mentor staff.
- Line‑manage junior team members.
About You
- Passion for ecology.
- Good working knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation, policy and methods, wildlife legislation.
- Ability to conduct BNG assessments including feasibility, baseline and post‑works assessments.
- Strong report‑writing skills; experience in authoring Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans preferred.
- Strong botanical skills; holding a Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) level 4 or equivalent ability.
- Competent in GIS and/or other geospatial applications.
- Experience in protected species survey, mitigation and licensing.
- Understanding of work‑winning through bidding and client relationship management.
- Capability to manage ecology deliverables and projects from bidding to completion.
- Membership of CIEEM or equivalent, and chartership (CEnv or CEcol) or the current ability to achieve chartership.
- Full driving licence.

Security clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers will be contingent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance through the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) process, which may require proof of UK residency of five years or more.
