As a Risk Manager, you’ll be part of some of the biggest infrastructure projects. Projects include transforming the energy sector, the East Coast Digital Programme railway, increasing international connectivity at Heathrow Airport, and delivering safe journeys for National Highways and local government bodies.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the successful delivery of risk management services in a consistent, professional manner with the aim of exceeding client expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate effective risk management activities to actively reduce risk exposure and uncertainty on projects and programmes.
  • Provide expert advice to develop and implement risk management approaches and systems for clients, incorporating best practice and procedures.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage with project teams to ensure effective implementation of risk management.
  • Carry out risk analyses using industry recognised software and databases.
  • Produce risk reports summarising outputs to suit the needs of the project or programme.
  • Support the development of new risk management processes, procedures and tools as part of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support win‑work activities with the preparation of bids and proposals to secure new commissions.
  • Support business development, client engagement and other profile‑raising activities to promote our risk management services.
  • Support talent development through mentoring and training of peers and colleagues in risk management techniques, with opportunity for line‑management responsibility.
  • Support recruitment of new resources through participation in interviews.
  • Initiate, develop and implement risk management processes.
  • Facilitate workshops as part of the overall delivery of the risk process.
  • Conduct risk reviews applying qualitative scoring of risks.
  • Undertake quantitative risk analysis techniques.
  • Produce appropriate risk management reports to inform decision making.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working on major infrastructure projects in at least one of the following sub‑sectors: rail, energy, highways, aviation, industry and utilities.
  • A recognised diploma or degree, or qualification through experience, with a qualification in risk management.
  • Significant experience in all aspects of risk management, following ISO 31000.
  • Awareness of industry risk management tools such as ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, SafranRisk, @Risk, Risk Predict.
  • Understanding of how risk management integrates with other project management and value management processes.
  • Understanding of value‑management process and its application on projects.
  • Project controls disciplines including cost estimating, project planning and contract administration.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across wider teams.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work well on your own initiative.
  • Confident and professional manner, coupled with excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues, to ensure clarity and influence.
  • Analytical thinker, able to show initiative and examples of creativity.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and proven ability to deliver to deadlines.
