We are seeking an individual with practical experience in environmental coordination, assessment, and team management to join and lead our Environmental Management team in London. Key growth areas include the Water market supporting South East Water, Southern Water, Thames Water, the Energy sector supporting various energy companies, and work with Local Authorities. This role is an excellent career development opportunity for an experienced professional aiming to advance in a dynamic industry. You will collaborate with technical specialists, lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new business areas, and mentor team members. The ideal candidate will have a degree in environmental or related disciplines and comprehensive understanding of EIA processes and environmental management. We support ongoing career development through training, mentoring, and professional growth activities.
Responsibilities- Leading coordination and delivery of environmental projects by multidisciplinary teams, including EIAs, options appraisals, and environmental management.
- Managing a team of environmental professionals and liaising with Practice Management to oversee the Environmental Management team in London.
- Handling programme and financial aspects, including budget management.
- Promoting high environmental standards within engineering projects, influencing project development for optimal outcomes.
- Managing client relationships confidently and professionally; leading bid preparation and developing new business opportunities; engaging in CPD and staff mentoring.
- Degree or Master’s in environmental or science-related fields.
- Chartered status with relevant postgraduate experience, preferably in consultancy.
- Experience with major infrastructure projects.
- Deep knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical expertise.
- Leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams; report writing, presentation skills, and quality review capabilities.
