The AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the centre of excellence for the delivery of infrastructure projects, combining project management and design management to serve clients in the public and private sectors. The team handles design services across Water Infrastructure, Defence Infrastructure, Nuclear, Aviation, Energy, Rail stations, and Urban Developments.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director to join our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice, based in Newcastle or Stockton. This role is ideal for an established Associate Director / Associate or Senior Project Manager seeking career growth and increased project delivery responsibilities. The position involves hybrid working from our NS&NI offices with client site visits. Our growth in the Northern regions, especially in Energy and Urban sectors, drives this recruitment.
The role involves working on a diverse range of projects, including refurbishment, new builds, nuclear, defence, and water projects, providing a platform to advance your project management skills and experience. The ideal candidate will have several years of multi-disciplinary infrastructure project delivery experience, preferably in a consultancy, and will be responsible for leading major design projects from inception to completion.
As an Associate Director or Associate, your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring project delivery aligns with targets such as schedule, budget, and quality, and developing strategies to achieve these objectives.
- Managing contractual and commercial risks and identifying opportunities for additional work.
- Leading and developing the project team, fostering problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Facilitating effective communication within the team and with clients, including subcontractors and partners.
- Collaborating with Discipline Leads on commercial arrangements and communication strategies, including coordination with our Global Technology Centres in Bangalore and New Delhi.
- Managing the project delivery programme, ensuring accurate invoicing and credit control, and monitoring financial performance including Earned Value reporting.
Requirements include:
- Chartered Engineer/Architect/Project Manager or equivalent with experience in large infrastructure projects.
- Recognized level of competence in Project Management (e.g., APM PMQ) is desirable.
- Experience with various construction contracts, especially NEC3 or 4.
- Knowledge of BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination.
- Ability to identify growth opportunities and bring value to the business.
