AtkinsRéalis Building Design practice are looking to recruit a Chartered Building Surveyor or Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to work in a multi-disciplinary environment to deliver a full suite of Building Surveying duties out of our Bristol office. We can offer extremely varied and interesting work with a number of high profile public and private sector clients.

The role will be based out of our Birmingham, Cardiff and Exeter offices and will be full time (37.5 hours per week).

As well as technical competence, we are looking for individuals who possesses great communication, strong commercial awareness and experience, and who will provide a first-class service to our clients.

This position would be an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor with experience post qualification experience. For the Senior Chartered Building Surveyor roles, experienced would be desirable.

We are growing and working in many sectors, such as local and central government, education, blue light, rail, aviation, infrastructure, commercial and energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Working across a number of projects in different sectors, providing a range of building surveying duties.
  • Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project by project basis.

Provision of:

  • Building pathology.
  • Design and specification of projects including Net Zero schemes.
  • Project management.
  • Pre and post contract duties for projects.
  • Contract administration.
  • Project management.
  • The use and application of standard forms of building contracts, ideally both JCT and NEC.
  • Designer level ability as defined by the CDM Regulations.

Requirements:

  • Full member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Ability to demonstrate good all-round surveying experience.
  • Good team working skills and ability to communicate well at all levels.
  • Prepared to travel within the region, and into other regions where required.
  • Keeping abreast of industry issues and developments in best practice.
  • To liaise with senior colleagues to help build a profitable service and positive, high performing team environment.
  • Strong IT skills, Word and Excel as a minimum. Candidates should be able to produce, edit and format documents.
  • Good ability with AutoCAD and experience of Revit would be an advantage.
  • An awareness of BIM.
  • Full understanding of Health and Safety requirement.
