We have recently been named a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency’s latest framework to better understand climate change impacts and flood risks in England. Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework, AtkinsRéalis will provide survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological, and other professional services to assist in climate event planning. This significant programme aims to enhance understanding of climate change impacts and reduce flood risks to communities, supporting vital response efforts.

Requirements:
Current vacancies are for Associate consultants, engineers, and modelers across UK offices, with consideration for exceptional candidates elsewhere. Candidates should have experience delivering flood risk projects focusing on hydraulic modelling and the confidence to lead technical work and mentor junior staff. Building strong client relationships and collaborative skills are essential.
- Extensive experience in flood risk analysis for strategy, planning, development, or design, with proven project delivery.
- Proficiency in 1D-2D modelling tools such as Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, or HEC-RAS; GIS skills with ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS; hydrological assessment experience with FEH and UK hydrology is desirable.
- Leadership experience in developing and leading technical teams.
- Ability to make robust decisions based on available information.
Chartered status is highly valued, and we offer support in obtaining professional memberships through mentoring and development. Civil engineering design experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed technical work including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and reporting, ensuring quality assurance.
- Manage and supervise junior team members, support project managers, and follow project procedures, including financial and change management.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide integrated client services.
- Support business development, including tendering and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Flood Risk Team through active participation in technical networks.
