Atkinson Moss are pleased to be working with a successful, close-knit FMCG business who are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join their team on an initial 12-month maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity for an established FMCG sales professional who enjoys being hands-on, building strong customer relationships and leading a small, enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the company's commercial objectives, growing sales and developing relationships with both existing and prospective customers.
The business is open to either a temporary or interim appointment and is also flexible on working hours, with both full-time and part-time candidates considered. Ideally, the successful person will work either four or five days per week.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and supporting a small Sales team.
- Managing key customer accounts and building strong relationships.
- Working with major retail customers and leading commercial negotiations.
- Developing sales plans, forecasts and new business opportunities.
- Managing pricing, promotions and trading agreements.
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and win new business.
- Supporting new product launches.
- Monitoring sales performance and working towards agreed targets.
- Attending the occasional trade show, exhibition or customer event.
About you
FMCG experience is essential, ideally with experience working with major UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose or similar. You’ll need to be commercially minded, confident managing customer relationships and comfortable leading a small team. Experience of working with large-scale retail clients and new business development would be a real advantage. Travel is minimal, with perhaps a handful of trade shows, exhibitions or customer events throughout the year.
